Real name: Rudolf Grossmann, pseudonyms: Klaus Morleit (C. Morelight) and Pierre Ramus; born in Vienna 1882, died at sea in 1942; journalist, publicist, propagandist of anarchist ideas, antimilitarism and birth control; active in the left wing of the socialist labour movement in New York from 1898; founder of Der Zeitgeist New York in 1900; contributed to Johann Most's Freiheit until 1904; fled to London in 1903 after being charged with instigating strikes, while out on bail; editor of Die freie Generation London/Berlin 1906-1908, then Jahrbuch der Freien Generation 1910-1914; returned to Vienna in 1907 and became the principal figure in the anarchist movement in Austria; conscientious objector in the First World War; founder of the Austrian Bund herrschaftsloser Sozialisten and of its organ Erkenntnis und Befreiung 1919-1933, named Der Anarchist in 1927-1928; made propaganda trips to Germany, England, France and Switzerland; member of the International Antimilitarist Bureau; his publications include `Die Neuschöpfung der Gesellschaft duch den kommunistischen Anarchismus' 1921.
