She was thrown violently from her horse while nine months pregnant and went into immediate labor. The future Robert II (Stewart), King of Scotland was born Caesarean section that day. The second documented reporting of Caesarean since the famous Julius Caesar. Marjorie only lived a few hours after delivery. Upon her death she was buried at Paisley Abbey, Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland. Marjorie was named after her father's mother, Marjorie of Carrick. Marjorie Bruce, Princess of Scotland and Walter Stewart, 6th High Steward of Scotland's only son: Robert II Stewart, King of Scotland born 2 Mar 1315/16, died 19 Apr 1390. Marjorie's marriage to Walter, High Steward of Scotland united Clan Stewart and the royal House of Bruce, giving rise to the House of Stewart. Her son was the first Stewart monarch, King Robert II of Scotland. Died (19 years old) at Paisley [Renfrewshire, Scotland] on 2 Mar 1316, buried at Paisley [Renfrewshire, Scotland] [Paisley Abbey].
